I work at KFC and I'd really like to quit as soon as possible. Don't want to keep the new employer waiting.

  1. No, but it might come back and haunt you.  They might nit give you a good evaluation if you leave suddenly.  They new employer will understand you want to leave ypur old job on the best terms possible.  This will give the new employer a better impression of you as a worker.

  2. h**l with them, would they give you a two week notice if they were to fire you? It's time to move on, don't jeopardize your new job by waiting, tell them you will start tomorrow.

  3. As a manager I have come to expect that employees will usually quit before working out a notice. I have had a few work out a notice and then come back in a few months because the new job just didn't work out. Some of them were rehired.

It depends on if you want to use the manager at KFC for a reference now, or in the future. Also depends on if you want to ever work for the KFC company again as they will probably attach a do-not-rehire code to your employment file. I have quit twice in my career without notice - I had better jobs waiting (much better, not just a few $).

  4. Heres what you do book off every single day in the next two weeks and hand in your two weeks notice. Or if you want to be a jerk or if you hate the place then just hand in your two weeks notice and not show up for any shifts they can't do anything to you and you already have another job so no need for a reference.

  5. You don't HAVE to, but its always a good idea. If you absolutely can't get out of a shift at your new job, then you have to go ahead and just quit...I've done it and it worked out fine!!

  6. If you want a good reference you will.

Also, its the courteous thing to do. If you asked not to be scheduled too heavily so that you can begin the next job sooner.

  7. It's always ethical to give two-weeks notice to any employer, unless the circumstances are preventing you from having a productive work environment (i.e. sexual harassment is occurring).  If you do the right thing, you'll always be able to get a good recommendation should you need it in the future.

Of course, there's always the option of asking your boss if he's okay with you leaving before two weeks is up.  He may say that's fine.

  8. It is best to do so you don't want to burn any bridges.  You may hate your new job in the future and want or need to go back to KFC.  Think about it if you were the manager would you hired someone back or give a good reference to sumeone that just up and quit.

  9. If it is possible for you to give two weeks notice it would be

a good idea. Some employers won't hire you back or

give a good reference if you leave without notice.

  10. nah just dont use them as a reference
