Do I have to go 15 mph in a school zone if there's no school that day?

I think today is a teacher work day. I was driving by the school, the lights that notify you to go 15 mph were flashing, but there were no cars in the parking lot. Do I still need to go 15 mph, or can I go the normal speed limit? Thanks!

  1. "When the lights flash, Don't dash"

  2. Just because there may not be school, doesn't mean there are not school activities going on.  Also, all school speed limit signs should have lights on them.  if they are blinking, follow the 15 MPH speed limit.

  3. Anytime that the lights are flashing the law is that you need to drive that speed limit..........................

  4. Remember there always n***s.  Frequently the sign says 15 mph when sign flashing and on non school days they forget to trun off the flasher.  I always slow down

  5. why take a chance?

  6. it will say on the sign monday through friday and the times and if there is no school than you do not have to go 15

  7. Just because there isn't supposed to be school that day doesn't mean there aren't' kids around the area. In my day, prior to all the vandalism etc, we used to go there to play when there was no school. Of course we didn't have all these 'teacher's day's' when I was going either. Man, kids today barely go to school!!! Hope this helps!!
