  1. If I were in your position, I just wouldn't show up for work on Saturday.  If they say you were supposed to be there, say you didn't know but that next time you have jury duty you will know to come in on Saturday.  Chances of you having jury duty again soon - slim to none.   Chances of you getting off the hook at work - pretty d**n good.

    Always plead ignorance.

  2. I work in HR.  I get people all the time who miss days and come up with the best excuses in the world.  Odds are, if you dont ever miss days, and are a fairly good worker, they may just be a bit angry- but I would call in. Where I work, if you dont call in, you lose your job.  SO if you really dont want to go in, let them know in advance.  Jobs depend on the workers.

Me? Well I would go in, since the jury duty is over.  They are still expecting you.

  3. Of course you have to work.  You arent on jury duty on Saturday.

  4. If you normally work saturdays, then you should go in this saturday as well.  Everyone, including your boss, knows that courts aren't open on saturday.  You aren't out of town (you'll be home friday night), jury duty isn't difficult so you don't need to 'rest up' after a long week.  You're just looking for an extra day off.  Suck it up and go to work.

  5. Jury duty is Mon-Fri only, so if your hours are Mon-Sat then you are obliged to go to work on Saturday.

  6. Don't go, Saturday work is optional in my opinion.
