Do I have to have an agent to audition for a movie?

I really want to audition for a movie just for fun, I am not serious about it but i would like to try it. Do i have to have an agent? How can I find my own auditions?

Very few films have open auditions, other than for extras.  Contact a local casting agent (as opposed to a talent agent) who might have an extras listing service.  

However, auditioning "just for fun" makes no sense.  People there are trying to get work; they're not there to have a good time.
