Do I have to keep utorrent open for it to download a torrent?

Question

Well, the download is taking a while, and it's at 0% still...Anyways, I was just wondering, does the computer have to be on for it to keep downloading? Or does the program have to be open for it to be downloading? Or can I leave my whole computer off and it will keep downloading?

Of course you need to keep your computer on...I don't see how it could possibly donwload with the computer and all it's operations off...

And yes,even uTorrent needs to be open,just drop it to that task bar.

Computer needs to be on. uTorrent can be closed to the system tray and still download.

yes your pc needs to be on while downloading, it needs to be on to do anything

and if you meant the software program utorrent then yes it needs to be open for it to keep downloading, you could just minimize or hide it if you want you could also turn off your monitor after minimize/hide but you cant turn off your pc

Use Azureus, now called vuse, but its really good. Ive used alot of P2P and its been the best and fastest. But yes you do need to leave it open for a torrent to continue downloading.

Yup. You need to keep it on for a download to finish. I usually leave it on when im away from home or busy doing other things. its best to have it on while you are NOT surfing the net cuz it makes the internet run slower.
