A month ago I bought a guitar on ebay and somehow it got lost when he sent it via UPS. He filed a claim and UPS authorized a lost parcel claim. So he sent me a replacement. After he had sent the replacement, UPS arrives at my door and delivers the lost package. Without thinking I opened it. Now the seller wants me to send the lost package back because the replacement one is mine. Will I have to pay UPS to return the lost one back to the seller?

  1. In short yes as you opened the package. Had you not opened it up you could have refused delivery, and UPS would have returned it to the shipper, I know that that isn't the  answer that you are looking for but that is the answer
