My husband and I just got our passports. We took our first trip out of the country. When we got back I was trying to be a good wife and do the laundry. I washed his passport. Now the cover looks worn but the pages seem to be fine. There is one more thing. The stamp that we received when we entered into Mexico is gone. I have a picture if that would help just email me.

  1. The passport should be replaced, especially if it is one of the newer biometric passports that have an imbedded microchip in the cover.  The act of washing the passport may have damaged the chip.  However, you should only need to apply for a replacement passport.

  2. Yes, you should definitely replace the passport, if it's really damaged. You need to go apply for a new one and you will be required to turn in the "washed" one. lol! Sorry! Of course you will have to pay again but you might not be able to use the one you have now if you decide to travel abroad again. Of course before you do any of that you can just go ask, maybe where you applied for your first passport. good luck!

  3. I don't think you have to but if you want to waste all that money into getting a new one then go ahead, but I think you really don't have to.

  4. You should totally get a new passport.

Go to post office and apply for a new one.
