We are having a 7th birthday at our community pool at 10:30 am - few friends, mostly family. Should I have to make lunch at the end of the party or is snacks drinks and cupcakes ok? Party should be over by 12:30 (1:00 at latest with kids being tired out in water). Just trying to make it simple and easy - just come have water play. (limited sitting area around kid pool too) Any suggestions?

  1. snacks drinks and cupcakes sound good to me...good idea.

  2. I agree with TX2step.  The party will run over into lunch time.  You can do cheap pizza by going to a take and bake store such as Papa Murphy's.  Get some of the family size pizzas and cut the slices small.  I would order the "Papa's Perfects" they are 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 Hawaiian.

  3. The party is over lunchtime, so omit snack and have lunch, sub sandwiches are easy, with some chips or serve pizza. . . and of course the cupcakes.

  4. Pick up some kid friendly foods especially some proteins. No better way to have melt downs then get a kid all jacked up on sugar over excited and over tired. Some string cheese, fruit, like watermelon. peanut butter and bananas. have some celery with cream cheese and raisins for ants of a log in a cooler. cheez whiz with crackers . I think the adults actually like this one better than the kids. Some chips are nice and real fruit popsicles. nothing that has to be heated or kept hot will simplify things alot.

  5. You bet, kids in the water get VERY hungry, pizza is the best idea, easy and everybody likes it.

  6. You bet, mom. Bring in some pizzas or see if you can use their barbecues if they have them and do up hot dogs.

  7. Your party will be during lunchtime, so you should have something to eat besides cupcakes.  After all, if YOUR child went to a party that was over at 1 pm, and just had snacks & cupcakes, you might be a little upset - since it would be past their lunchtime & their appetite would be ruined for lunch now too...... just get some pizzas.......Slip n/ Slide, water guns & balloons......pinata

  8. Looks like your on lunch duty mom, you know the routin as soon as those kid s get done swimming there going to be hungrey, Do pizza or pb&j sandwichs,,Good luck

  9. I would write in the invites, no lunch will be served but there will be cupcakes, snacks and drinks. The parents can determine if thats a good enough lunch or not. You could also suggest the parents bring their kids' own lunches.
