CLEP and AP give you college credits for what you already have learned in high school...it gives you a way to skip some college classes.  You need to take the SAT or ACT as an entrance test for college admissions.   Some state colleges have open policies and don't require a certain score but some (many) colleges have an entrance requirement.  The number one thing you need to do is find out what you would like to do as a career.  Don't look to tests and guidance counselors so much as asking yourself some questions and doing some research.  Follow those answers and don't let people tell you what you can't do.
