Do I have to take Organic Chemistry before taking Biochemistry?

[Quick answer: A biochem major normally includes courses which cover organic chemistry.  At my institution, we are required to take at least one chemistry course which included an introduction to organic chemistry before we entered second year.  But definitely, you will be covering organic chemistry in detail (to some extent) if you intent on doing a biochemistry major.]


  2. Check the pre-requisits for the courses.

    'Bio` is a specialized branch of 'organic`.

    You'd probably do better taking organic first.

  3. I would take BOTH organics before bio. At my institution, bio is one of the most difficult chem courses. There is LOTS of organic, and you need lots of practice.
