Do I have to work my normal hours on sat if i am doing jury duty all week?

I work six days and i got jury duty. Its mon to friday. thats a 40 hour week. my work pay me for the normal hours i would have worked and i turn over the jury duty check. do i have to work my normal saturday at work since i am off all week on jury duty? They haven't said anything and i don't want to ask in case they make me.

Thinking i just won't go in. What do you think?

  1. No jury duty on Saturday.  If you are regularly scheduled and do not show up you could be fired or "deemed to have quit" for failure to show up or call in with a valid excuse.


  2. sorry, yes you have to go in on saturday. just enjoy the mon. thru friday away from work.

  3. Yes, you have to work your regularly scheduled shift when you are not on duty as a juror.  

  4. Don't go, jury duty is very taxing on the intellect, you need a 48 hour rest. He he he he. Besides, Saturday work should always be OT, and OT, hours are yours to do with as you please.

    Do you work 40 or 48 hours? If you work 48 hours, then 8 of those hours are OT. Excuse yourself. That's your own personal time.
