Do I have what it takes to get into UCLA?

I have a 3.9 gpa

I have attended the national leadership summit

and the national youth leadership forum

I have taken as many ap and honors classes possible

I have great extra curricular activites lots of sports

Got over 300 community service hours

and Im student body treasurer

Is this good enough?

  1. All of those things are very good, but your application will also be considered/not considered based on your test scores.  It is a very good and selective school, so the majority of the applicants probably have very similar accomplishments as you do. Best of luck!


  2. Nope. Need 4.0+ GPA. I had a 4.2 something last year when I applied but was rejected (but at least accepted into UCB!)

  3. those are good prerequisites, but you'll have to give them an amazing personal statement (essay) on why you want to go there so much and what you could contribute to their environment.

    don't expect to get in as a freshman.

    it's the most applied to school in the country (although it has the highest enrollment in the state with the highest population). anticipate transferring.

    that's what i did, and i just graduated.

    also, letters of recommendation in theory count, but who would ask someone to write one for them that didn't know they'd have something positive to say.
