Question:

Do I just need to get insurance?

I am 17 and I just bought a used car. I got the title or whatever transferred over to me by taking this paper to the driving office and signing some papers and paying $10. The registration and safety check is good until like November 2008 but the insurance ran out at the beginning of this month (May 2008). My question is all I need now is just to get insurance?

  1. YES

  2. Yes you are right

  3. You most seriously need insurance.

The State will know if you don't get insurance and the fines are huge in most of them.

  4. If it is registration in the seller's name that is expiring in November, you have to get that registration (and plates) in your name!  In the US, title and registration are not the same thing, and titling a car only lists you as legal owner, not as registered owner.  So it sounds like you need registration and insurance.
