  1. I'm guessing from the height of the fences that you are schooling over, you'll be doing crosspole hunters? I imagine you'll do fine, as what "you" look like is unjudged, the horse is the one being judged. And your pony is very cute, and he looks kind.

I think perhaps he is a bit short-strided, and gets more so in front of the fences, perhaps a small spur would help? Then you wouldn't feel the need to "pump" with your body to get him to go.

Your lower leg is a bit loose at times, and you have a tendency to open your hip angle too soon. Both issues that I am sure your trainer is working on.

  2. you look pretty good (far better than what I could ever do) maybe a little more speed.

  3. um. good, but now my eyes are sore.

  4. You have a beautiful horse. You clearly love him a lot, and your basics are quite good. From what I could tell-- it was hard, a picture of the two of you in "midair" would be really helpful-- he's got some nice form over hunters. You want his forelegs to tuck up nicely, and I *think* they were! :)

As for you, for the most part, you look pretty good, but there are a couple things I noticed. They didn't nessecarily happen every time, but I noticed each one once or twice!

Remember to streetch that heel down! There were a few points where it was up, and you couldn't quite get your leg underneath you to help with the turns, so you ended up pulling your inside rein. It would also generally just give you better balance.

On the turns, remember that you should never turn by pulling your inside rein. I don't think you do this all the time-- you must do what I do, and do it in frustration! Watch the video-- see when you're pulling his head right to the inside? It doesn't really make much in the way of a pretty turn, does it?

As per the fences, you tend to override your horse into them. You're trying to achieve forewardness by rocking ("pumping") your seat, and then you jump before your horse does. Then in the air, you tend to grip your knees-- a big no-no! Remember to relax that seat, and follow the motion of the horse. Don't release too early, wait for the motion, follow the motion.

Make sure to keep a nice, straight back over the fences.

Overall, it certainly wasn't bad. I loved your eye. I think wether or not you should ride hunters is 100% up to you, I don't think you'd embarrass yourself. However, right now, it would be best to work on those turns, and just get yourself out of the habit of 'pumping' your seat, and jumping before your horse!

  5. In all honesty, I'd say you looked okay.

I couldn't realy tell though due to all the flashes and such. It hurt my eyes.

  6. in hunters you don't need speed! but in jumpers though you want to be the fastest thign out there! i'm sure you already know though!

i just had to say that because of your first commenter i'm going to watch the movie andcomment after!!

**EDIT aww okay first of all your pony is the cutest and most adoable thingever i LOVE his colors

and he looks like a pretty good jumper... you should try hunters!! you never know if he'll make a good hunter unless you try him in it

but his frame is okay i think i couldnt really tell because your vid was so colorful and flashy haha it was a REALLY AWESOME video i don't know hoe you made it but it looks great it just was kinda disctracting from your performance..but as far as i could tell you guys lookcute together, the fences were not very tall but the ones he did jump he looked great! i'm no expert but he looked nice inmy eyes! great job go for hunters it's alot of fun!

  7. Watching that video almost sent me into a seizure.  That aside, you looked really good!  I think you would be fine in hunter/jumpers.

  8. You did well and your pony is adorable. Yu look good from what i could see but my eyes are sore :P
