Do I need Tommy John surgery?

Okay, ive had this little 'disorder' for maybe 1-2 years. I dont really remember exactly when. All I know is that during my 06' season my elbow started hurting. I usually played shortstop but it hurt to much to throw to 1st so i moved to second when it hurt. Somedays it would be OK and others it would be horrible. So the next season (07') my elbow felt fine and i was throwing 75 to 80. I dont exactly remember when i noticed this but i know it was sometime last year, but i figured out my right elbow wouldnt straighten out all the way. It didnt affect my throwing cause i still threw hard and my elbow never hurt. And then this year my elbow has felt fine all through the high school season and travel ball, but yet it still doesn't bend all the way. Now I throw high seventies to low to mid 80s. I dont really think its affecting my velocity because every year my arm seems to be getting stronger. But can anyone give me any input on what I should do regarding the surgery. Apparently my Dad doesn't think I need it but I would like other peoples opinions. Please someone help me. Thank you so much for your time I GREATLY appreciate it.

  1. only a doctor should be determining if you need something as serious as surgery.

  2. No, you probably need Harry V surgery though.

Of course you could still follow the advice of a bunch of unknown people on a computer that can not examine you or you could visit a doctor.

  3. Go to your doctor first, buddy. And a tip, if you want to be respected around here as an answer, you've got to post only serious questions. Also build up some points before asking questions.

I'm a slouch, I still have work to do. :)
