Do I need Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter to...?

Question

I wana be on the computer and xbox at the same time, so i'm going to buy a router. Do I need to waste $99.99 on the Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter to do that?

not necessarily...

if both your xbox and your computer are relatively close to the router, you can just use ethernet cables to connect both to the router with no problems.

if your xbox is far from the router, then you'd probably be better off with a network adaptor... and vice versa if the computer is far away

However, i don't recommend connecting connecting both devices wirelessly because in rare occasions, one may kick the other one offline, and you dont want that happening if your playing someone online!
