  3. not under 26,000lbs but you will need an air brake endorsement.the cut off for the weight is 26,001 lbs

    You DO NOT need a CDL simply because the truck has air brakes.  I can put air brakes on a camaro if I wanted to. NO CDL REQUIRED.  You do not even need an air-brake endorsement because it is not a commercial vehicle.

    You ONLY need a CDL if 26,001 or more, 16 passengers, or Haz-mat placarded.

    This was brought up repeatedly at update classes. THE ANSWER WAS ALWAYS NO - IF SIMPLY BECAUSE OF AIR BRAKES!!!

    (sorry for shouting)
