I require a Canadian visa to enter Canada. However, I have an American visa. Would I still need to apply for a Canadian visa, or will the American visa work?

  1. If you are an American citizen than all you need is an American Visa to go into Canda ,If your Canadian  citizen you need a Canadian Visa to go into the  U.S.

  2. please understand that the visa you received for America is only  good for America

in order to enter Canada you need a visa from Canada

each country has to give you a visa ,their own visa

so ,no , it will not work ,apply for a visa for Canada

  3. On behalf of citizens of both Canada and the US I would like to clarify that each country  is a sovereign nation with its own government and immigration policies.  A visa to one country does not have any legal bearing on permission to seek entry into the other country.  In other words, to enter both countries, you would need a visa for each country.

  4. I take it you are not an Amercian citizen so you would need a passport the enter Canada. If you wanted to work here than you would need a Visa. Extended stays or entry as a student also require a visa.
