Question:

Do I need a PRS licence as well as a Phonographic Performance Licence?

I work in a sports club bar. We are already covered by a Phonographic Performance Licence (PPL). We've been told by the Performing Rights Society (PRS) that we need a licence from them as well to continue to use the T.V. in the bar. We already pay a T.V. licence and a bar subscription to Sky. Do we really need a PRS licence as well?

  1. One covers the music, one covers the performers - I did understand that they were going to coordinate so you had only one to pay. Presumably that has fallen through. Private sector bodies so you do not have much of an appeal route.
