I am going in December, so I need to know when I need one.

I am a Citizen, but I have an uncle who's only a resident, so do we need passports?

  1. You need a passport  or your birth certificate and a government issued phot ID to return to the USA. You don't require a passport to entry to Mexico by car. Your uncle will need the green card or permanent resident allien card.

  2. Yes you definitely need a passport, and you can apply for one at your local Post Office.  As for your uncle, he may need to go to the Mexican embassy in your town and apply for a Mexican passport. Call them up and ask about it, they are always willing to answer questions.
