I am a US citizen living in Hong Kong for 3 months. Also, I might get a Hong Kong visa to extend my stay. I understand that I can stay in HK for 90 days without a visa but if I do obtain one then will the visa also permit me to go to mainland China?

  1. Yes, You need a visa to enter Mainland China for one day.

  2. You need the visa.

Visa is waived by certain countries for USC. China is not one of them.

  3. Visa is needed by a US citizen to visit China even for only one day because it is required by their Immigration Law.
