Question:

Do I need a car title in my hands?

I wrecked my car last night and it has been turned into the insurance already. I was wondering if I will need the car title for anything throughout this process? It is currently being held as collateral for a loan and I do not have it in my possession. Will this cause any problems?

  1. One of my friends asked me this kind of questions before,I found helpful here.http://car-insurance.easyideas4u.info/ca...

  2. You dont need to do anything. Your insurance have all your information about your car and loan. Insurance should take care everything for you. Insurance will take care your loan and depend who's fault or whats kind of coverage you have. Make sure you call insurance for update information.

  3. just have the certificate of registration, official receipt of the registration fee, your driver's license, and your policy ready.  make sure that they are all current/valid/paid.

as long as the name in the policy, and the name in the car registration, and the name in the current registration official receipt is the same, there is no need to present the car title.

  4. Insurance company will pay the lender in the settlement, if the car has been totaled.  If there is any money left over, after debt is paid, it goes to you.  Unfortunately, it is very common that the insurance settlement amount is less then loan payoff.  You will have to pay the difference.
