Do I need a certificate or a license to teach in my house?

I want to start some spanish lessons for one hour , two days a week, but I want to make sure if I need to meet some guidelines.

  3. You may in some states. I'd check with the local zoning/permits or school board

  4. It may vary from state to state, from town to town, from city to city, etc.

    There may be zoning implications, or there could be a covenant in the chain of title to your real estate that may prevent your teaching.  If all you are doing is minimal as you described, there will probably not be any objections, and it would most likely be a "permitted use" under most local zoning laws.
