I am going to Spain tomorrow and I need to quickly know if a converter is needed or not. Say for a laptop charger and a phone charger or other things. And if a converter is needed, what type do I need?

~Thanks

  1. Yes yo do...

  2. We have 2 round pin plugs and you have 2 flat pin plugs and for this you can buy adapters many places including airports.  Far more important is your voltage in USA is 110 v and ours is 230v so your equipment must be able to deal with this higher voltage or ......... you get a smell of burning and smoke.  For electronic stuff it is also important that your frequency is 60 cycles and ours is 50 so anything which uses the mains frequency (mostly things like tvs, radios etc) will not work.

  3. Yes, you will need a converter.  A really good travel store will carry a set that you can match to the plug in whatever European country you're in.  I was able to use my set in France, Italy, Switzerland and England.  Just had to match the converter out of my kit to the plug!

  4. Mmmmm...yes. The same one as for anyother European country (continental, that it, UK not included)
