  1. I don't know if it's still the case, but Amazon used to let you pay by cheque.

You'd put all the items you wanted in the basket, then when you got to the 'checkout' stage you'd click a button where you said that you'd pay by cheque. It would then give you an order number and an address, and you could send the cheque along with the order number.

    Maybe they still do this?

  2. You need a credit or debit card for ebay.

  3. Yes or a bank card. Which if you are 16 or over you can get. I think depending on which branch your with.

  4. just follow your perents advice, don/t try to be smart.

  5. eBAY can let you pay by PayPal but amazon.co.uk won't so yes you will need a credit card.

  6. ya i tried using a debit but they wont let u. or u can set upa paypal account but i think thats only for ebay. otherwise it has to be a credit card

  7. no you dont, you can get a card called quidity or tuxedo, basically you load it with cash and away you go. to simplify it ,its like topping up a pay as you go phone, and of course safe to use on-line as theres no bank details to be exposed. so if you want to be extra safe, you see something for £20.00 on line, just load your card with say £21.00.

  8. If you're not old enough to have a credit card, you aren't old enough, full stop.

You need to be at least 18 to open your eBay account (I don't know about Amazon but would guess that's much the same).

If you're under 18, you have to be supervised by your parents.

You're going to think that's really stupid - all your mates already do it no doubt - but whenever you buy/sell on eBay, you're entering into a legal agreement (it's not a game) and you have to be 18 to do that.

  9. amazon will let you pay with credit or debit card, or you can sen a cheque or postal order. with ebay it depends if the seller will accept the methos usually paypal is on payment methods for which you'll need a credit card to set one up. some sellers accept other form of payments eg cheque, postal order, banker's draft etc
