Question:

Do I need a credit history to be approved for the Capital One Standard Platinum credit card?

I'm searching for credit cards for people with no credit history (which probably means no credit score either), as I am trying to build my credit. They keep coming up with the CapitalOne Standard Platinum card. I know that a secured card is great for building a credit history if I use it wisely, but I just want to explore my options before I get it. So, does the CapitalOne Standard Platinum approve for people with NO credit history (no credit score)? Thanks!

  1. yes but you may also want to think why they offer you a card with no credit history when other Banks are not ready to...

  2. Yes, but other than that you can check out Credit Unions like Digital Credit Union (dcu.org) and Nortwest Federal Credit Union. Credit unions give better rates than secured credit cards. There are many ways of joining them and the easiest one is to find someone who is already a member.

  3. Yes you will definitely need a credit history to get a Capital One platinum card. You are correct that a secured card is the way to go. You can compare cards at the site below.
