  1. Most cities and towns require a fence.  You would get your best answer calling your local government office.

  2. yes you do!!

  3. Most insurance companies require a 6 ft fence for your homeowners.  Many cities and townships don't require a fence, but they do require a self latching ladder enclosure if there is no fence around the actual pool.  If there is a fence, the ladder must either be removed when not in use or fold up.

  4. Call your local codes department.  Some municipalities REQUIRE it, others don't.  Either way, it is preferred to have one to limit your liability b/c kids and animals and stupid things may fall in and drown.

Generally, temporary blow-up type pools do not require  fence.

  5. yes in most states it's the law

  6. In most areas, yes.  Depends on local codes. Check with a code enforcement official.

  7. More than likely you have a local ordinance requiring a fence of specific heighth because pools tend to attract children. Here it is 6 feet high.

  8. For insurance purposes you have to have a fenced in yard or a fence around the pool itself.

  9. For insurance purposes, YES!!!  If you do not have a fence, your not going to get approved for an insurance policy.

If you have a liability claim resulting from the pool, and the insurance company figures out that you had no fence, they will deny the claim and leave you high and dry.
