  1. Google gun laws in CT and you will get a summary of your local gun laws.  I live in Indiana (which has pretty liberal gun laws) and you cannot carry your hand gun in your car if you do not have a permit.  Only exception is to and from point of purchase or gun smith.  Long guns are not an issue.

Please inform yourself to avoid problems.

  2. Shooting at a range is not a problem. Transporting the firearm is the only issue. Please check with the local law enforcement authority for proper procedures. Some states want plain sight carry and others want locked in a case without ammo secured in the trunk .....

  3. Check with the range you plan on going to. Some have guns to rent (in FL anyway they do). Please be sure to practice safe gun handeling! Finger off the trigger until ready to fire and ALWAYS keep pointed down range. Be safe!

  4. The gun range will ask for your name, age, and what guns/ calibers you will be shooting. You can always call and ask.

  5. I live in CT and i like to go to high rock range you do need one if it's a pistol but not a rifle and some places (as long as the pistol owner has a permit) will let you shoot IE. a under aged kid will shoot his dads pistol.

  6. no you dont

  7. not in texas.  i doubt anywhere, because you are not conceal/carrying the gun.  just take it to the range in its box in your trunk, then they can bust you for trying to conceal it.

  8. The gun range may have limits on age also the state may.

Best thing is to call the range you are going to and ask them any questions.

  9. In most states, carring a firearm in your car, loaded or unloaded, in plain view with the ammo separated still constitutes carrying a "concealed" firearm without a license.  Every criminal would say he's going to the firing range.  Apply for a permit, do whatever hoops you got to jump through to get one.  I carry alsmost everywhere.  It's better to have your gun and not need it, then to need it and not have it!!!  The first ammendment is our freedom of speech, and the second ammendment is your right to carry.  However, anyone with a gun in his or her hand has the right to say whatever he/she wants especially at 3am in South Philly, otherwise I would of been mugged when I was approached that night.  You should of saw the look on their faces, priceless.

  10. Tecnically no.... BUT I have not found a range in Connecticut ( and I have shot at most of them) that will allow you to shoot HANDGUNS without one.

Rifles and shotguns are not a problem.

( What range were you thinking of going to?)
