However you can totally pull off the alternative look, so please get a great stylist to keep your look individual. Consider color if you want to enhance the look too!

It's best to go to a top salon and pay the top dollar for an excellent stylist, for example, do you know who has won hairdresser of the year in your area for the past several years? Do you know who styles most of the hair in say, Rolling Stone, Vogue or Harpers? These are where you should be looking. Don't be afraid of these people. They are usually great. I sent my husband off to a very famous salon, they do stars etc, and he got a top cut for $80. It was not what we were quoted either... much much less than what we were quoted, but it looks great.

These people know what will work with your face, the same with color. And it's worth paying for their knowledge. I've had some horrid hair disasters and sometimes there really is no going back from them unless you really love hats.
