  1. No you just need to be taller than the window so you can look out if your not find something to stand on so you can see

  2. Yes you would need a license that meets the tonnage of the vessel.  You will also need to comply with the vessels certificate of inspection that will outline how many crew members at which stations are needed.

    edit:

If you are going to ship vehicles across international boundaries you are engaged in international shipping.  Are you going to have the vessel and cargo insured, If so your insurance company is going to demand that the crew is licensed for a vessel of that size, private owned or not.

This vessel can not be operated with just one person, so if you hire some one to help you are now an employer and will have to have insurance.

  3. as was said, if you are going to operate it as a private yacht in US waters, no license......but this is a big ship at 700 tons...someone with no experience operating a boat has 0 % chance of doing this safely.

If you are operating commercially in the US you have to comply with CFR 33 and CFR 47; get it hauled out, inspected and certified by the USCG; have an insurance survey at the same time; have licensed deck officers and engineers with certificates for this tonnage ( which, for a Captain, takes about 3 years operating similar ships as 3rd, 2nd and  First Mate); European / British waters a similar story of literally book thick regulations under SOLAS and the IMO

  4. READ WHAT IT SAYS... that boat displaces 740 TONS... that means you would need at LEAST  1200 TON UNLIMITED LICENSE.

You could buy the ship and have a LICENSED delivery crew bring it to the U.S. You will have at LEAST $2 MILLION DOLLARS invested in that boat by the time you get it to the U.S and you will have to register it SOMEWHERE.

Even if it's a private yacht... you STILL NEED A CAPTAIN'S LICENSE TO OPERATE IT and it will STILL HAVE TO PASS COAST GUARD INSPECTION

I don't think you have a CLUE what is involved in this little project of yours.

  5. Yes if you are going to use it commercially. If you are going to use it as your private yacht, then you do not have to be licensed.

  6. Yes, you and your crew would need licenses.  This is a commercial vessel.
