Do I need a line lock to do a burnout?

I don't want to try a burnout with my car cause I don't want to tear up the rear brakes. It has disk in the front and drum in the back if that makes a difference.

  1. NO.you need POWER.

  2. if you cant roast 'em without the brakes then dont do it at all.  You will look like you are trying too hard.

  3. Don't even bother, it's a waste of tires and the only reason to do it is if you have a fully prepped race car with slicks which need to be heated up to stick to the track.

  4. No you don't need one. It would be much easier if you told us what kind of car you had.

I drag race alot at the track for 20 years and have never ever noticed excessive rear brake wear. It's the tires you have to be concerned about.

  5. no on most vehicles you can hold the brake pedal down slightly and get it to do a good burn out,its not really good for the back brakes to do this though, but that will do it,good luck.
