Do I need a mattress foundation/box spring to go with this bed?

Yea, I know I should have asked the guy but I was in a rush..I need to know if I need one or not. I am going to buy a mattress next week. Also, what's the difference with a mattress foundation and a boxspring, if any? Thanks!

You are going to need a box spring or a board type foundation(like on bunk beds).  the bed has slats and rails.  A mattress does not have a wooden frame to sit on the slats and stay supported.

Thjis bedroom set comes with slats it says..thus it needs a box spring...The box springs fit over the slats then the mattress on top of the box springs

a box spring is the same thing as the foundation

I checked out the set - i would say your fiance is right

try for something a little more on the feminine side

i love the set...sleek and contemporary!! yes...it needs a foundation of some sort...i would go with a regular box spring so that the mattress doesn't sit too low.
