  1. All you need is your residency my husband has a green card and he travels all the time,we asked and they said the passport was mandatory but for us citezens not for residents.

  2. I travel back and forth from Mexico and the US all the time. Whenever I go to the US, I show my american passport and I pass with no problem. Whenever I go to Mexico, I just show my mexican passport once I get there. My Mexican Passport expired almost 5 years ago and i have not renewed it because well, you don't really need to ever renew it xD.I need to show it once I get here to Mexico otherwise I think they would send me back to the US.

My answer to you would be to get a Mexican Passport. It's not that expensive and will arrive in a pretty short time plus, you won't really need to renew it again if it expires. When you get out of the US, show ur American Passport and once you have to pass immigration in Mexico show your mexican passport and you'll have no problem.

  3. Se me hace que para volar por avion puedes necesitarlo, intenta obtenerlo en el consulado, no se tarda mucho, suerte

  4. Actually, you can fly into Mexico with your matricula, and return to the u.s. with your green card and photo i.d.  However, you really should get a new Mexican passport.  all green card holders in the u.s. are responsible to keep a current passport from their home country at all times. You may confirm that you may travel without a passport to Mexico by reading VERY carefully the 2 sites below...on 1st one read under "Information-normal passports to see that  Permanent resident card and matricula are also accepted.  On 2nd site  you will see that a passport is required when leaving the U.S., BUT, U.S. permanent residents with a green card are exempt from this.   in other words, mexico will let you in with your matricula, and the u.S. will let you return with your green card. This info applies to Mexico only.
