  1. Yes, you will need a passport. Contact your local driver licensing center to see where to get it in your area.

  2. Yes you will need your passport and they'll ask the driver a few questions. Security is tighter after 9/11.

    EDIT: As per http://gocanada.about.com/od/canadatrave...

You won't be needing your passport when travelling by land until summer of 2009, I didn't know they delayed the passport requirement.

  3. You might need one depending on what part of Canada you will be driving into from the US.  My father told me some spots do ask for it even though the government says Summer 2009 will be when you will have to have it for Land travel.

If you can not get one right now then I suggest bringing a birth certificit or an ID.

  4. yeah, you need your passport ..

and at the border they'll ask questions like how long you'll be going for and such ..

  5. yes bro u do need it

passport is fine if ur citizen also an picture id

i went to toronto last mont they check my driver license and the passport.

  6. the whole passport thing doesnt place until 2009 UNLESS your going by Air not by land

  7. "SaskArie" gave you the absolutely correct answer.

  8. not necessarily, some states like washington have a driver's license that acts as a passport. The state deparment also has a similar card called a passport card that is cheaper than a normal passport for when you drive across the border.

  9. No you will not need your passport because you entering Canada via LAND, if you were to fly in..yes then you need a passport.

But since you are driving in you only require original birth certificate and government issued photo id( ex drivers license)

They will ask you a few questions at the border concerning how you know the family type thing.
