Do I need a passport to go on a cruise to Catalina, California?

I'm American and I don't have a passport and I'm trying to set up a cruise for Spring Break.

  1. No, but you should still make sure you have some form of identification with your photo on it.  (Always good to have wherever you travel.)


  2. Catalina Island is part of the  California and the United States, so you do NOT need a passport.  Passports are not needed to travel to any state, territory or possession of the Unioted States, even if you have to cross water or great distances to get there.

If you are a citizen of the U.S.A. you definitely do not need a passport to travel to Catalina, CA.  If you are a citizen of South America, Central America, or Canada, then you need a passport.  If the cruise also goes to Ensenada, Mexico, or some place like that, then you will definitely need a passport!

    Well.... Is Catalina another country? NO!!! It is part of California which is part of the US and you don't need a passport to travel within the US...... So I feel pretty good saying I don't think you need one
