  1. the answer to your question depends on several things...where are you departing from...where are you going?

If you are departing from the US, and going to the caribbean or Mexico or Canada you don't NEED a passport...

I highlight NEED because even though it is not required, it will make your trip easier...less paperwork...less delays.

If you are going to Europe for a cruise you will definitely need a passport...don't worry though, it doesn't take long to get one, and it is good for 10 years!!!

  2. I know if you are a US citizen going on a cruise to the caribbean you do if you are an adult. Soon children will need them as well but it is always a good idea to get one when ever you travel out of the country. For more details contact your travel agent or cruise line provider.

  3. What country are you a citizen of and where is the cruise going?  Makes a big difference.  You could call your cruise line and ask...best plan, since no one here can tell you accurately without more info.  american citizens going on Caribbean cruises that begin and end in the u.s. do not need passports.

  4. Yes.  The ship makes a foreign stop so everybody has to go through immigration when they comeback.  Now that being said, I am not sure that they really keep track of who does.  When I went on a cruise, St. Thomas was the last stop, so everybody went through immigration there.  If you did not go through it, I do not know that it would have been a problem when getting back into Florida.

  5. To carry Charlies answer one step further.  You do not need a passport if you are on a cruise to Caribbean, Mexico or Canada that starts in the US and returns to the US.  You will need a passport beginning 06/01/09.  We recommend that you get a passport before sailing because if you for some reason are stranded in a foreign port you will not be allowed back in the US by air or car until you do obtain an emergency passport.

I hope this clears things up.
