No, I`ve got it in my caravan at Richmond, no phone lines there. I discussed it with customer services at Sky and they gave me the OK.

Sky keep changing their mind son this one. As they don't charge now for SKY+ Subs, they should allow installation without ph line.

Good luck, they will charge a once off fee though because you aren't connecting to the ph. A round 30 quid.

you dont need a phone line for it to work but you are meant to keep it connected to a phone line to access sky services such as box office or prem plus.

Yes you do need a line so sky can update your sky box when necassary!

Yes its a condition of the Sky contract even though not being connected won't stop the box.

Without one they won't install it and you can't do the initial set up yourself as they have to code the card to the box to your account

Once that has been done all you need is a small dish and a sat finder to point it at Astra 2 (just S of SE) then you can get sky anywhere you have power even in some parts of Europe.

Its legal to take your box anywhere but you need the card and its against the rules to use that anywhere other than the address its registered to

hi there they tell you you need a phone line but i have a friend that had sky installed and they didnt have a phone line.

You wont be able to have all the interactive stuff on demand like the box office you would have to ring them up and pay over the phone or get an interative card.

We have a phone line but hardly ever have it pluged in as we use it for the internet, but if they no you have a phone line and you dont have it plugged in they will charge you for it as they do a line check to see if its there.
