I've set up my VOIP as instructed, but there is no sound when I test the phone. I read something about a soundcard, but not sure if I need one for this? Can anyone help please?

  1. It depends on your equipment. Some work without your computer needing to be on, and just plug into your modem or router. Other systems require you to use a microphone connected to your computer or run a handset plugged in through your computer, in which case you will need a sound card or the sound chip integrated into most motherboards active and the drivers loaded.
