  1. Yes you do.  Unless the TV is entirely self contained and is powered from an internal battery.

    In other words, a portable TV that does not connect to an external aerial, and does not connect to the mains, or to an outside battery - ie, it cannot be powered from the car battery, or a battery in the caravan.

    It's all laid down in the small print on your TV licence.


  2. If the TV in your static caravan or mobile home is never in use at the same time as the TV at your main home, you don't need a separate licence. But you do need to complete a declaration form and return it to TV Licensing so that they can update their records and you avoid a fine.

    Please note, the above only applies if: -

    a) Your caravan, mobile home or moveable chalet is capable of being moved from one place to another (by being towed, or by being transported on a motor vehicle or trailer) and

    b) You have a TV Licence at your home address.
