Question:

Do I need a transit visa?

I'm traveling from London, UK to the United states and stopping in Amsterdam for a few hours. I have a valid U.S. visa and do not plan to tour amsterdam, just stay in the airport for the layover. Do I need to purchase a transit visa for my layover in Amsterdam and if so where do i find out the fees? What if I flew from London to Paris for the layover, would it be any different?

  1. If you stay in the international area of the airport you do not need a visa of any sort.

  2. if ur layover is over than 1 day, in couple of airports like that in London, u have to get a transit visa. in most of the airports in Asia and US, you don't have to get a transit visa if you are not going out of the airport. so it depends on the airport. even in London, u didn't need a transit visa but after that toothpaste mishap thing they changed the rules.
