Do I need a visa to cross the border from Canada to the US when I am on holiday there?

I want to drive from Canada to the US to tour a few states while I am on hols in Alberta.

  1. yeah id and passport, been to canada several times, we have family there, and we went to Niagara Falls and crossed to America there. They check your passport etc, took us about 10 minutes through security etc. Americans don't particulary like Canada vice versa, have you listened to Homer Simpson?! But if you're from the UK, they love you


  2. If you are from the UK or Ireland - no, you won't need a visa. Just id and passport.

  3. Yes a visa is required but you can obtain it at the border crossing. The cost last year was $6 US. You will have to fill in a visa waver form hand over you passport to be stamped. I believe this method is valid for 90 days.

  4. I am British. I entered the US from Canada and again from Peru. I didn't need a US visa.
