Does anyone know if I need a waiver or a consent to ask random people from the street questions and to film them? If anyone knows if I do need anything similar to this please give me your advice. And if you might know a website I can just print 'some' out, or a place to go to get them. Thank you so much for any advice and responses.

  1. On public property, with a very visible camera, I would assume their cooperation would be all the implied consent you would need.  A consent form would be a good measure if you are using the film as part of a for profit enterprise, ie the on the street interviews from HBO's Real s*x series, or Taxicab Confessions.  Or if they are in no position to refuse, ie  COPS

  2. I'm pretty sure the public is open to film or take pictures. The photographers looking for opportunities to take pictures of the Celebrities is a proof of that. With a camera the people you are talking to know what's going on and they have the right to walk away. But you don't need a waiver to do what you are planning to do.
