Do I need a wireless router for Wifi to work?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501. I don't know if I have Wifi, or if I need a wireless router.

  1. Yes unless you use someone elses.

    Sometimes you could find unsecured networks to get on the internet.  But a wireless router is what you are connecting to.


  2. It is wifi enabled, so you need a router, or at least one nearby.

  3. your laptop has wireless /WIFI. you can either connect to neighbor network if its not security(WEP) enabled,or try for a net connection from local ISP along with a wireless router.

    then you are done!!!

    PC networks are actually radios.  Maybe your old radio will work.

  5. A wireless router is the source of wi-fi and to recieve the wi-fi you will need a wireless adaptor.  So technically yes you do need one.  You could also try to get internet off of a neighbors wireless router if it isn't security enabled.
