  1. If you have Zone Alarm security suite, that's all you need.

  2. ctfmon.exe:requires about 500 kb of memory and if u removed it ,it will be added again even if u exit the process it will start again but it is no harm cuz it uses very low memory

msn messenger:u can remove it if u don't want it in star up"ur choise and it doesn't matter but better remove unimportant ones as possible

    itunes helper,remove it completely(completely unnecessary)

keep antivirus on start up for ur computer security(i have avg8 on start up and it doesn't harm the cmputer or make it slower even if i have 512MB of ram

  3. Most of what you have listed can be eliminated from the startup programs. They take up memory and up the CPU usage slowing down the computer.

You really only need either Spysweeper or Windows Defender.

Zone Alarm is a back up to the Windows firewall that is turned on in XP

Service Pack 2  so you now have two firewalls in place. If you want that fine it will degrade performance.

Spysweeper is similar to Windows Defender you need one or the other NOT both running real time scans at the same time.  Suggestion keep Windows Defender and change spysweeper to run only when you tell it to.

Where is your Anti-Virus program, I don't see it in the list.  That is a MUST!!

  4. Be very careful about what you disable during startup as you can accidentally disable vital system services.  That being said, the only program you can disable that I know won't make your system more vulnerable to viruses is MSMSGS, which is MSN messenger (worthless unless you use this IM service)
