I want to put a few files up, and I don't have time to call Cox and re-set my small ftp with them. Where else can I host these files? And do you only need an ftp client or a server as well? I know, I'm clueless. Help a sister out. :)

  1. you prob only need a client. unless ure computer is a server for other people to access. but if its for only file sharing, do what Bernz said.

  2. It depends WHO you need to give the files too... Do you simply want to share files with friends, or do you need to REALLY upload to an FTP server (for web pages for example)?

If you need to simply share files, there are several alternatives:

    - Use a file-sharing service such as YourFileHost or RapidShare.com

    - Install a FTP server on your PC, but you'll need to be familiar with opening TCP ports on your firewall and router

    - You can also share files through MSN or Skype with your friends.

    Good luck!
