Do I need an SAT subject test to go into Economics?

I'm from Canada, but I'm looking to apply to U.S. schools. I'm planning to go into Economics major, and so I need to take the SAT reasoning test, but do I need the subject test? Is it necessary, or recommended, or what?

Thanks in advance.

  1. It really just depends on the school. Some schools require certain subject tests for certain majors or departments, others don't. Even if it's not required it never hurts to show colleges good scores on subject tests, so if you think you can do well, and can afford to take the test, go ahead. Check the websites for the schools you're looking at, and see what their requirements are for the departments or majors you're looking at. Good luck!
