Do I need an adapter if..?

Im travelling from the UK to Mexico, are the plugs different? I also heard that they are the same as US plugs.

Which I do have.

Yes, the plugs are different.  Plus, you'll need a "step up" voltage converter--UK voltage is 220-240, and Mexico is 110.  

Without the converter, your electronics will operate at much lower efficiency (if at all).
