Do I need an extra car battery for my system?

I am installing 2 12" subs at 1000 rms each, an amp that puts out 1500rms, a pair of speakers that are rated at 60 rms and another pair of speakers rated at 65 rms.

Help is much appreciated.

  1. You should be okay depending on your alternator output, I had about the same with a 90 amp alternator and I was fine. But I wouldn't get a second battery, I would just get a 1F capacitor and that should keep all the juice you need.

  2. depends on your car.

i've got 2500+rms(without the amp) and i need an extra car battery

  3. Naw, your fine. If you don't have any lights fading, and you have a good healthy battery that should be no problem. I have 2 kickers running at 1200 rms each, 75 rms speakers, a 2000 amp, underglow, inside neon, strobes, flood lights, and my battery is running fine.
