I have a U.S. Driver's license, and will only be renting a car for a week in Ireland. Just wanted to make sure I don't need to also get an international driver's license! Thanks for your help!

  1. Yes you do.  Where I live, it cost about $15. They will put your picture on it and all you do is sign the piece of paper.  No test or exam.

  2. Yes you do!! I dont think they are too expensive

  3. yes you do...run for the border....

  4. You need to check the terms and conditions of the rental company you choose to hire your car from, as some car hire companies in Ireland require an international driver's license while some don't.

  5. Yes you do, go to AAA they have the applications and can help you get one. You can do it through the mail too. Print out the application (see the link) and mail it to the AAA office with two passport style photos and they will send you your IDP.
