I'm from the Netherlands, do I need an international drivers license when I'm driving in the USA?

  1. I assume you have a Dutch drivers license, correct?  That would be all that you need, as long as you are just visiting.  The international drivers license things are really something of a scam, to be honest.


  2. If you have a Dutch license, you should be fine driving in the US.  

    I'm not sure about the differences in Dutch driving laws compared to the US, so I'd recomend speaking with others who've driven in both countries to learn about their experiences.

    Although I usually recommend that people do not purchase insurance through the car rental company, you may want to consider doing so to make sure that if an accident occurs you are protected.  Have a great trip!
